Founder’s day
Address 2006
by Dr. Thara Simon
The founder’s day Address of the year 2006 was delivered by Padmasree
Prof. Samuel Paul on 27th November, 2006. Principal Dr. Varghese John
welcomed the gathering remembering the founder fathers of UCC who are
responsible for the present legacy of UCC. Prof. Mathew Koshy, manager
of the college, presided over the function, and he remembered the hard
work and vision of our great gurus who made this institution and our
lives a wonderful gift from God.

Dr. Samuel Paul, in his key note address, emphasised on enhancing the
quality of education, especially primary education. He also talked about
focusing on a better human resource management. Prof. Paul asked the
crucial question whether the students are giving the first priority to
study. He emphasised the need of continuous assessment of the
institutions and evaluation of the faculty for assuring the quality.

On behalf of the UCC community, Dr. A. M. Chacko, former principal,
presented a memento to the chief guest, and Dr. Sunny Kuriakose proposed
the vote of thanks.

We were indeed delighted by the response of the community of alumni
and friends in and around UCC, for witnessing such a wonderful event and
for the sharing of wisdom of Prof. S. Paul, a great son of UCC, who is
currently an internationally known economist. |
