U.C. College Receives Grants

13-05-2004 The College is pleased to announce that it has received several grants in recent weeks.

The UGC has granted eight lakhs for an instrumentation maintenance facility at the College.

24 lakhs have been granted by the UGC for the construction of a women’s hostel.

The UBCHEA (United Board of Christian Higher Education in Asia) has given a grant for Planning for Autonomy and Reconfiguring Academic Disciplines.

Dr. P.M. Kuriachen from the Department of Botany has been given a grant by the UBCHEA for participating in its United Board Fellows Program.

Dr. K.E. Leelamma from the Department of Psychology has received 1.95 lakhs from the Indian Council of Social Science Research for research in Gender Studies.

Prof. Thomas P. Zachariah from the Department of Physics has received a UGC grant for a minor research project.

Dr. Ancy Eapen from the Department of English has received a UGC seminar grant for "Translating the Women’s Reading Through Creative Self Expression-a Social Perspective."

Dr. K.E. Leelamma from the Department of Psychology has received a UGC seminar grant for "Mental Health Status and Quality of Life of Women."

The English Department has received a UGC grant for "Structuralist and Transformational Linguistics- An Advanced Study."
