Jill
Wason, who had been singularly responsible for the facelift of this website and
keeping the content current in the past year, finished her assignment and
returned to the USA. "This is a big loss to the college and to me
personally," according to Dr. Jacob Mathew, webmaster. "Jill had been very
patient and effective in working with the College. She
had also shown utmost professionalism in what she did. We wish Jill best of luck
in her future endeavor. We will miss her dearly."
Jill joined U. C. College in September 2003 as an Young adult volunteer of the Presbyterian Church USA.
During her short tenure at the college she has captured the hearts of
many members of the U C College family. She has also made significant
contributions in the development of the college by improving the
communications with the college alumni scattered throughout the globe.
Jill has taken a leadership role in changing the face of the
College website by redesigning it. She has been regularly updating the website with events and news from the college.
She has also sowed the seeds for developing a database of the alumni
worldwide. College now has a database of alumni accessible through the
website.
Jill's activities were not confined to the college, however. She also spent two days per week in “Christhava Mahilalayam” School, interacting with the students. Her presence in “Chako Homes” of the Alwaye Fellowship House has been a source of rejuvenation, joy and hope to in the midst of very depressing circumstances of those who spend their evenings of their life. Her intimate connection and effort that she took in interacting with the young women of the nearby Dalith colony was a challenge to those who still are kept within in the narrow walls of a cast ridden social and mental culture.
The college places on record the appreciation for what she has been and what she achieved through her activities of the college. The Inter Church Fellowship of the college gave a farewell party to Jill on 23.7. 04
Thanks Jill, we cherish the memories of your presence on the campus…
Good Luck !!!
