UC College was born on June 8, 1921. So,
June 8 is the birthday of the college. This year, the date has added
significance as it marks the beginning of the Navathi year.
The Navathi thanks giving service on 8th
June 2010 was a solemn function. Remembering the founding fathers and
all those humble dedicated faculty and staff with a silent prayer; Prof.
Suseela P. George, (former student and retd. Head of the Department of
English) led the service. Mr. KC Paulose (representing the non teaching
staff) and Ms. Nino Baby (representing the teaching staff) read the
Bible lessons. The principal, Dr. T. Thomas Philip, introduced the chief
guest Rt. Rev. Michael John. In his inspiring message Thirumeni recalled
the hard work of the dedicated men and women who toiled day and night
following the footsteps of the founders. He remembered the passion with
which Prof. Aravamudam Iyyangar described Prof. K. C. Chacko as the
Mahatma of Travencore.

Based on 1 Corinthians 3:1-15, thirumeni
recalled all those who planted and watered UCC. He also spoke abut the
fellowship of the staff, and the value based life of the present staff
and faculty.
Rev. K. C. Mathew, our alumnus, former
manager and present member of the Board of Directors, presented the
memento. A home made Navathi cake was brought in by Mr. Prasad Punnoose,
a UC College alumnus, and his wife.
