Recent Highlights Reunion 2006
Prof. Girija was the chief guest and delivered the keynote address
during the UC College Reunion in 2006.

In her keynote address, Prof Girija shared her thrill and excitement of a great home coming,
and added that UCC is neither a college, nor a mere educational
institution fitting in the present day definition, but it is a place of
worship. Prof. Girija sketched briefly the various ways in which U.C.
College stands out in the present times as an institution which upholds
the values and ideals that the founders envisioned. She acknowledged the
role that the college played in moulding her as an all-rounder, teacher
and administrator. She recollected the family atmosphere that she experienced in
the hostel under the wardenship of A. M. Chacko sir and Sodari Kochamma.
Prof. Girija concluded that her search for role models always ended in
Union Christian College and it is true even today.

East Hostel Reunion 2007
Dr. Thara Simon's Recollection: After 40 years, when Prof. Girirja, Ms.
Mariamma and her friends came for east hostel reunion they visited the
east hostel, and I was surprised to see many of them giving packets of
sweets to the inmates, as if they are coming to meet their kids!!! One
person was distributing "Churuttu" the famous Kottayam sweet, to share
the joy of her son's marriage.
